吾亦紅　Great burnet

This is a wood carving of a sugar glider (mosaic).
It is made of cypress (with some bamboo and akebi vine) and painted with acrylics.
The dimensions are approximately 16.3 (8.5) cm in height, 8.5 (7.8) cm in width, and 13 (10.5) cm in depth (figures in parentheses are the dimensions of the main body only, with parts detached).

According to the traditional calendar, autumn begins in August, so flowers known as "autumn flowers" often give the impression of blooming during summer vacation.
There are various theories about the origin of the Japanese name "Waremoko" (Great Burnet), but I am fond of the story that someone, seeing this flower blooming in a meadow, said, "I wish I could be like that."
I love how this flower stands tall and proud, blooming in a deep, vibrant red, as if celebrating its own simple but unique self.

Points to note when purchasing

To prevent damage during transit, the item is shipped unassembled (please see the second image; this is the condition in which it will be shipped). Please assemble the parts upon arrival and secure them with wood glue.
In principle, we do not accept returns or exchanges for customer convenience.
You may notice minor scratches or distortions, which are part of the unique charm of handmade items.
A glaze (noise) has been added to the product images to prevent machine learning. I apologize if this makes them difficult to view. Colors and atmosphere may look different depending on your device or light source.
As it is made of wood, repeated cycles of moisture absorption and drying may lead to cracking. Additionally, if placed in a high-temperature area, natural oils within the wood may melt and seep to the surface. We recommend storing the piece in a location with minimal fluctuations in humidity and temperature. In particular, please avoid storage in direct sunlight or near air conditioning vents, as these accelerate the deterioration of the wood.
