花火　 Sacred fire

木彫りの犬（ペキニーズ）です。
素材はヒノキ、着彩はアクリル絵の具です。
サイズは約高さ9.5㎝、横幅5.3㎝、奥行き６㎝です。

お盆の頃は、親戚で集まることも多かったので、子どもの頃はよく花火をさせてもらいました。
子ども同士で、キャラクターの付いてる花火を取り合っていたような覚えがあります。
幼い頃は、自分の気に入った花火ができないことをあんなに悔しがっていたのに、
自分で花火のセットを買える年齢になっても、独り占めして全部やりたいとは思わないのが不思議なところです。

元々は、花火は慰霊や疫病退散の意味があったらしい。
早く病の流行が終わって、世界が平和になりますように。

This is a wooden carved dog (Pekinese).
The material is cypress and the coloring is acrylic paint.
The size is about 9.5 cm (height), 5.3 cm (width), and 6 cm (depth).

Around the time of Obon, we often gathered with relatives, so we often had fireworks when I was a child.
I remember that children were fighting each other for fireworks with characters on them.
When I was little, I was so frustrated that I couldn't get fireworks that I liked.
It is strange that even when I became old enough to buy my own set of fireworks, I never wanted to keep them all to myself and do them all by myself.

Originally, fireworks were meant to comfort people and ward off epidemics, apparently.
I hope that the disease epidemic will soon be over and the world will be at peace.
