This is a wood carving tutorial set containing a guidebook and materials. The reference piece is not included in the set.

The set includes the guide and two pieces of Japanese cypress (hinoki) square timber (10cm x 3cm x 3cm), which is the wood I usually use for carving.
To experience wood carving, you will need to prepare a saw, a wood carving knife, wood chisels, a ruler, writing utensils, and preferably work gloves and a vise.

The guide is a 6-page color print. Even if the text is difficult to follow, it features detailed step-by-step photos so you can intuitively understand the process.
 [p1] Tools and processes
[p2] Drawing the desired shape on the square timber from four directions
 [p3–4] Rough-cutting the shape with a saw
[p5] Smoothing out the corners with a wood carving knife
[p6] Refining details with wood chisels
 [Appendix] Stencil for tracing

Notes on Purchase

Please take care to work safely to avoid injury. Unfortunately, we cannot provide compensation in the event of an injury.
Please also note that we cannot guarantee the finished result will be identical to the reference piece.
As those who have tried this before know, it often doesn't go well the first time. Please keep in mind that it is normal to struggle at first and treat the experience as a step toward your next attempt.
The set only includes two pieces of cypress, but you can always purchase more. You can replenish your materials however is easiest for you and try as many times as you like. The cypress included in this set is the same type I use regularly—it is the same wood I used to carve the reference rabbit. This means that if you carve this cypress, you can compare it with any wood you purchase yourself. If the carving experience feels different, you can use that as an opportunity to look for wood that feels better to work with. I hope you will use this set as a step in that process.

We generally do not accept returns or exchanges due to customer preference.
The square timber included in the set may have individual differences in wood grain.
You may notice small scratches or distortions, which are part of the unique character of handmade materials.
Colors and atmosphere may appear different depending on your device or lighting.
As this is wood, repeated moisture absorption and drying may cause cracks to form. We recommend storing it in a place with minimal humidity fluctuations. Please avoid areas with direct sunlight or near air conditioning vents, as these can accelerate the deterioration of the wood.
There are requests we may not be able to accommodate after purchase, so if you have any questions, please ask before purchasing.
Shipping is handled on weekends and holidays, so depending on when you place your order, it may take some time to ship. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
