single-minded

This is a hand-carved wooden lemming (Norwegian lemming).
It is made of cypress (with some bamboo parts) and painted with acrylics.
It measures approximately 7 cm in height, 7.5 (6.5) cm in width, and 6.5 (6) cm in depth (the numbers in parentheses indicate the dimensions of the main body without removable parts).

Because they live in the harsh Arctic Circle without hibernating and their populations fluctuate dramatically, they were once believed to be fairy-like creatures born from the clouds.
It was also believed that they chose to end their own lives, as their numbers would suddenly drop after migrating in large groups when their population surged.
Of course, these are nothing more than superstitions.

Their Japanese name, "tabinezumi" (traveling rat), comes from their habit of traveling in groups.
They are simply living their lives with earnest focus—so much so that when humans project their own feelings onto them, it leads to the creation of unbelievable urban legends.

Points to note when purchasing

To prevent damage during transit, the parts are shipped unassembled (please see the second image; this is how the item will be shipped). Upon arrival, please assemble the parts and secure them with wood glue.
In principle, we do not accept returns or exchanges due to customer preference.
Please note that minor scratches or slight distortions may be present, as is characteristic of handmade items.
Colors and atmosphere may appear different depending on your device or lighting environment.
As this product is made of wood, repeated absorption and release of moisture may cause cracking. Additionally, if kept in high temperatures, natural oils within the wood may melt and seep onto the surface. We recommend storing the item in a location with minimal fluctuations in humidity and temperature. In particular, avoid direct sunlight or areas near air conditioning vents, as these will accelerate the degradation of the wood.
If you have any questions, please ask before purchasing, as we may be unable to accommodate certain requests after the order is placed.
Since we process shipments on weekends and holidays, please be aware that it may take some time for your order to be dispatched depending on when it is placed. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
