This is a wood-carved kingfisher.
It is made of cypress and painted with acrylics.
It measures approximately 4.5 cm in height, 5 cm in width, and 10 cm in depth.

Most blue creatures are said to appear blue not because of pigment, but because of their structure.
That is why a blue bird can look like it is shining light blue one moment, or appear dark like a shadow the next.
The blue of insects and fish is also often only vibrant while they are living in nature.
Even if you want to keep them like jewels, the object of your desire fades as soon as you catch it.
And so, it remains a longing forever.

Most blue creatures are not blue because of their pigment but because of their structure.
Therefore, depending on when you look at a blue bird, it may appear light blue or dark like a shadow.
Insects and fish are often blue only when they are alive in nature.
Even though we want to keep them close at hand like jewels, the longing fades as soon as we catch them.
So it will always remain a longing.

In Japan, the name of a beautiful blue bird that lives by the water is the name of a jewel.
I think it is so beautiful that they wanted to keep it close at hand for a long time.
