立冬　first day of winter

木彫りの幼虫（サクサン）です。
素材はヒノキ、着彩はアクリル絵の具です。
サイズは約高さ9.5㎝、横幅5㎝、奥行き9.5㎝です。

冬の気配が立ち込める頃になれば、ヤママユ蛾幼虫のモコモコした様子はダウンコートに見えるし、手を合わせる様子はかじかむ手を温めているように見える。
表情を作らない彼らに映る自分に気が付くと、自分の世界は自分の心だと実感する。

絹糸は日本では家蚕（カイコガ）と稀に野蚕（ヤママユ）から得ているけど、外の国にはサクサンから得られるタッサーシルクという有名な絹があるらしい。

This is a wood carving of a larva (Antheraea pernyi).
The material is cypress and the coloring is acrylic paint.
The size is approximately 9.5 cm (height), 5 cm (width), and 9.5 cm (depth).

When winter approaches, the fuzzy appearance of Antheraea larvae looks like a down coat, and the way they clasp their hands together looks like they are warming their biting hands.
When I notice my reflection in their expressionless faces, I realize that my world is my mind.

In Japan, silk thread is obtained from domestic silkworms (Bombyx mori) and rarely from wild silkworms (Antheraea yamamai), but I heard that there is a famous silk called tassar silk obtained from saksang (Antheraea pernyi) in outside countries.

素材が木なので、吸湿と乾燥を繰り返すことで割れが発生する可能性があります。また、温度の高い場所に置くと木の内部の脂が溶けて表面に滲み出す場合がございます。なるべく湿度や温度の変化の少ない場所で保管することをお勧めします。特に直射日光が当たる場所やエアコンの吹き出し口付近での保管は木の劣化を早めるので避けて下さい。

In particular, please avoid storing the product in direct sunlight or near air conditioner vents, as this will accelerate the deterioration of the wood.
