木彫りのゾウムシ（コナラシギゾウムシ）です。
素材はヒノキ（触角は竹）、着彩はアクリル絵の具です。
サイズは約高さ9（4.5）㎝、横幅10（9.5）㎝、奥行き18㎝（カッコ内の数字はパーツを外した本体のみのサイズ）です。

皆と共に飛ばないといけないわけじゃない。
焦らず自分のタイミングで飛べばいい。
今年はたくさんどんぐりが生るだろうか。

ドングリの木には、たくさん実をつける年と、ほとんど実をつけない年があるらしい。
だから思わぬ大凶作の年に当たって全滅することを回避するため、シギゾウムシは一部数年単位で休眠する者がいるのだそうだ。
多数が選択をしないものと言うことは、きっと不利なことがあるのだと思うのだけど、万が一に備えて多数とは違う選択をする者が作られている。
何のために不利を強いられているのかという気持ちにもなるけど、めぐり合わせによってはその選択をした者だけが生き残る、またはその選択自体が多数になる場合だってあるのだろう。

This is a wood carving of a weevil (Curculio dentipes).
The material is cypress(antennae are bamboo) and the coloring is acrylic paint.
The size is approximately 9 (4.5) cm high, 10 (9.5) cm wide, and 18 cm deep (the numbers in parentheses are the size of the body only without the parts).

You don't have to fly with everyone else.
You can fly at your own timing without being in a hurry.
Will there be many acorns this year?

It is said that some years acorn trees bear a lot of acorns and some years they bear very few acorns.
So, in order to avoid being wiped out by an unexpectedly bad harvest year, some weevils go dormant for several years at a time.
If many do not make a choice, then there must be a disadvantage, but those who make a different choice from the majority are made to be prepared for any eventuality.
I wonder what the disadvantage is for, but I suppose that depending on the turn of events, only those who make that choice will survive, or that choice itself may become the majority.

輸送中の破損を防ぐため、パーツを組まずに発送します（画像二枚目をご確認ください。この状態で発送します）。到着後にパーツを組んで、木工用ボンドで接着してください。
お客様都合での返品交換は基本的に受け付けていません。
細かい傷や歪みなど、ハンドメイドならではの味わいを感じることもあるかもしれません。
デバイスや光源によっては色や雰囲気が異なって見えることもございます。
素材が木なので、吸湿と乾燥を繰り返すことで割れが発生する可能性があります。なるべく湿度の変化の少ない場所で保管することをお勧めします。特に直射日光が当たる場所やエアコンの吹き出し口付近での保管は木の劣化を早めるので避けて下さい。

In order to prevent damage during transportation, we ship the parts without assembling them (please check the second image. It will be shipped in this condition. ). Please assemble the parts upon arrival and glue them together with wood glue.
Basically, we do not accept returns or exchanges for customer reasons.
You may notice minor scratches, distortions, and other unique handmade flavors.
The color and atmosphere may look different depending on your device and light source.
Since the material is wood, repeated moisture absorption and drying may cause cracking. It is recommended to store the product in a place with as little change in humidity as possible. In particular, please avoid storing the product in direct sunlight or near air conditioner vents, as this will accelerate the deterioration of the wood.
