越年　have a good new year

木彫りのトンボ（オツネントンボ）です。
素材はヒノキ、着彩はアクリル絵の具です。
サイズは約高さ10㎝、横幅5.5㎝、奥行き9㎝です。

冬に飛ぶトンボがいることを知っている人は少ないかもしれない。日本には成虫で冬を越すトンボが3種類いるのだそうだ。
私の地元でも、冬や早春のまだほとんど昆虫が見られない時期にトンボが飛んでいるのを見ることがある。いつも褐色だから、多分オツネントンボ(越年蜻蛉)なのだろうと思う。和名の由来は成虫で越冬することから来ている。
もっと自然豊かな地域だと、他の昆虫と同様に寒くなる頃に越冬場所を探して家の隙間から室内に入ってきてしまったり、雨戸の隙間に集団で挟まって冬を越していたりするのだそうだ。

This is a wooden dragonfly (Sympecma paedisca).
The material is cypress and the coloring is acrylic paint.
The size is approximately 10 cm high, 5.5 cm wide, and 9 cm deep.

Few people may know that there are dragonflies that fly in winter. There are three species of dragonflies in Japan that survive the winter as adults.
In my hometown, dragonflies are sometimes seen flying in winter or early spring, when few insects can still be seen. I think it is probably Siberian Winter Damselfly (Sympecma paedisca) because it is always brown in color. Its Japanese name is "越年蜻蛉" which comes from the fact that it overwinters as an adult.
In more natural areas, like other insects, they enter through gaps in houses to find a place to overwinter when it gets cold, or they spend the winter in groups tucked in the gaps between storm shutters.

デバイスや光源によっては色や雰囲気が異なって見えることもございます。
素材が木なので、吸湿と乾燥を繰り返すことで割れが発生する可能性があります。なるべく湿度の変化の少ない場所で保管することをお勧めします。特に直射日光が当たる場所やエアコンの吹き出し口付近での保管は木の劣化を早めるので避けて下さい。

In order to prevent damage during transportation, we ship the parts without assembling them (please check the second image. It will be shipped in this condition. ). Basically, we do not accept returns or exchanges for customer reasons.
You may notice minor scratches, distortions, and other unique handmade flavors.
The color and atmosphere may look different depending on your device and light source.
Since the material is wood, repeated moisture absorption and drying may cause cracking. It is recommended to store the product in a place with as little change in humidity as possible. In particular, please avoid storing the product in direct sunlight or near air conditioner vents, as this will accelerate the deterioration of the wood.
